Avoid strong sunlight by shooting in the early morning, when the low-angled Sun will illuminate the trunks and produce long, dramatic shadows. Shooting in foggy and misty conditions is a surefire way to add intrigue to imagery when exposed effectively, but getting your timing right is easier said than done.
