Northumbrian yarn company Whistlebare has launched a range of timeless knitting patterns to celebrate its beautiful yarns, produced from its own flocks of Wensleydale and Cheviot sheep and angora goats. The patterns are free when you purchase the yarn to knit the project, and include a choice of sweaters, hats, mitts and scarves.
Our star of the show is the ‘Canny Lass’ shawl, created by Karie Westermann. It’s a semi-circular shawl, with small lace bands and a wide, knitted-on lace edging, and is worked in two shades of Yeavering Bell 4ply.
