Rights and wrongs
In response to David Sage’s letter [Cultural differences, December 27-January 5], I wonder what examples he has of the ridiculous results of the EU human rights policies?
Personally, I can’t find much wrong with égalité, fraternité and liberté (translated by me as equality, human fellowship and freedom).
I respect, as does the court of human rights, Mr Sage’s religious beliefs. However, it also respects the right of those who choose not to have a religion. I wonder if Mr Sage would envisage a return to Tudor or perhaps medieval times, where one was persecuted for either not being religious or for worshipping in the wrong team.
