Beyond Caravaggio (October 12–January 15, Trafalgar Square, London; national gallery.org.uk) is, as its title suggests, an exploration of the huge influence the Italian baroque painter had on both his peers and those who came in his wake. His paintings, as well as those by the Italian, French, Flemish and Dutch painters who were heavily influenced by him, will be on display (including The Taking of Christ, 1602, main image).
