Art and design lovers are going to be delightfully overwhelmed this week. Another American painter has a major exhibition opening this week. Mary Heilmann: Looking at Pictures (June 8–August 21, Whitechapel, London; whitechapelgallery.org) skips across her diverse work stretching back to the 1960s, including her paintings based on squares and grids and her glazed ceramics that blur the lines between painting and sculpture.
