Dawn worked as a carer for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues until a physical attack from a client put her in a wheelchair. “This caused me severe depression,” she says, “and in 2001 I was diagnosed with emotional borderline personality disorder. Through the charity Centrepieces, I have found the soothing therapy that art can bring, as well as a way to express feelings that I can sometimes find hard to express in other ways.”
