With a game like The Dee Sanction, it’s difficult to know where to begin. Because on the surface, it reuses some familiar concepts and setups that fans of the genre are going to have seen time and again. A period backdrop, full of magic and fantastical, monstrous creatures; it’s hardly original in its concept, and yet there’s still excitement to be found. Indeed, while the rules may be simple, and the premise recycled, the title manages to create an immersive enough experience that it’s hard not to be drawn in throughout the course of play.
