Artificial intelligence chatbot Grok, developed by Elon Musk’s xAI and integrated into social media platform X, is under intense scrutiny after users exploited its image‑editing capabilities to produce sexualised versions of photos of women without consent.
This has prompted concerns over online harassment, digital abuse and inadequate safety safeguards.
Users, in an effort to protect themselves from being exploited by third parties, are now taking steps to protect themselves.
Award-winning digital content creator Mihlali Ndamase tweeted directly to Grok to not authorise any edits or modifications to any photos or videos of hers, and that Grok not grant requests from third parties.
