Last month, Ghana announced the launch of the country’s first female amputee football team. The idea came from para-cyclist Ernest Yaw Ayisi through his Ernestay Disability and Sports Foundation. “Our goal is to train women who will be self-sufficient and independent,” says the president of the foundation, Irene Quartey.
