For starters the camera’s an absolute belter, with speedy autofocus and excellent lowlight performance thanks to electronic image stabilisation tech shared by no other phone. A 5in 1080p screen doesn’t sound like much but this one’s sharp and full of detail. Amazon UK has been running extensive tests of its flying post-bots in Cambridge for a while, but this new idea from Ford is something different. The dodgily titled Autolivery is a system of self-driving vans, robots and drones that will operate in urban areas to make package processing simple and entirely people-free. LG’s 5.5in X Power 2 packs a whopping 4500mAh battery into a surprisingly svelte chassis, albeit one that’s slightly too plasticky. It’s still as different and divisive as it was on Marshmallow, so Google purists aren’t going to be happy, but lots of Nougat’s features make it across, including the battery-saving Doze Mode 2.0.
