Geoffrey Marshall, a deputy sheriff in Douglas County, Nevada, isn’t new to the world of lifted trucks, but once he took ownership of his 2019 Dodge Ram 3500 Megacab, he only had one objective in mind for its fate. “I just wanted to out-do my last big truck”, he admits. “My last lifted rig was cool and all, but I wanted to build a full show truck out of the Ram, and I was ready to go above and beyond anything I’ve built for myself before.” But would it be street legal? THERE’S ONE THING YOU CAN COUNT ON WHEN JEFFREY DILLARD PUTS ON A CUSTOM TRUCK SHOW: HIGH-QUALITY RIDES. The first annual TriStar Tradition proved just that. Held on Memorial Day weekend just a few miles south of Nashville in Lewisburg, Tennessee, the show pulled in 132 quality rides, with the Best of Show award going to Jason Bandy’s beautiful 2007 GMC Sierra. TO CATCH EVERYONE UP, OUR ’98 GMC SIERRA KNOWN AS ARTEMIS HAS BEEN FULLY BAGGED ON A BOLT-IN AIR-RIDE SUSPENSION FROM RIDETECH. We added 20-inch wheels and some upgraded EBC brakes before sending it off to Glarb Designs for a one-of-a-kind vehicle wrap like no other. Light-up panels and reflective vinyl highlights help this “Ready Player One” inspired OBS stand out at the truck show. A full bed wood kit covers the freshly Rhino-lined bed floor, and all new light housings were added both front and back. Now, the truck looks good and runs flawlessly, so we need to focus on the weakest link: that old worn-out interior. ON THE WINTER 2021 ISSUE OF OUR SISTER PUBLICATION C10 BUILDER’S GUIDE, RONNIE WETCH FROM TRUCK TALK MEDIA WROTE ABOUT LIFE IN HIS COLUMN, “THE FINAL WORD.” He graciously drew an analogy between aging and flipping a tape cassette (remember those?) from side A to side B. I concur with Ronnie in that many of us are getting to the age of side B, so to speak, or at least from a mindset perspective. But one thing we are simply not ready for is losing our friends, family, clubmates and overall members of our truck community. Unfortunately, we are losing great people around us far too often. IN 1997, A FEW CUSTOM-TRUCK ENTHUSIASTS INVITED BARRETT STEWART TO HANG OUT ONE WEEKEND—AND THAT’S ALL IT TOOK TO GET HIM HOOKED ON THE LAID-BACK LIFESTYLE WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE. ROBERT AND JOANNA MAYES ARE THE OWNERS OF THIS BEAUTIFUL 1956 F-100. Robert is a successful businessman with several cars in his collection, and he decided he wanted to build a truck. After looking for the right one, Robert and Joanna came across this ’56 in 2017 in El Paso, Texas. The truck was in decent shape and completely original. Robert purchased it and delivered it to Francisco Murillo at Metal Brothers Hot Rods in Theodore, Alabama. Metal Brothers Hot Rods, one of the premier hotrod builders in the south, knew right where to start. The crew ordered a Roadster Shop frame with a 4-inch stretched wheelbase. Francisco knew he was going to put a big motor in this truck, so they installed a Ford 9-inch rear end with…

THE GOODGUYS 23RD SUMMIT RACING NATIONALS SHOW IN COLUMBUS, OHIO, WAS A WELCOME SIGHT TO ALL. Presented by PPG, it was one of the first major events to return to Central Ohio since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. After the 2020 show was canceled, it wasn’t clear even at the beginning of 2021 whether the show would go on. Thankfully it did—and successfully. More than 6,000 people from at least 40 states were registered to show off their rides, featuring all makes and models. Despite a drizzly Saturday morning and rainy Sunday, the days were pleasantly cool as thousands of gearheads crowded through rows upon rows of show cars, restorations, and vintage muscle cars and trucks. THE TEXOMA ROUNDUP, CREATED BY ALLEN “THE SHERIFF” DAVIS, HAS BEEN GROWING EVERY YEAR SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 2016. F-100s and other Fords, including Broncos, F-1s, F-150s, F-250s as well as related Mercury products, have been traveling to the Texas show from the surrounding region and beyond in increasing numbers. With the 5th annual Roundup canceled in the 2020 season due to the pandemic, the hype and anticipation for the 6th annual Texoma Roundup, held in May 2021, was at an all-time high. There was only one issue: weather. While the forecast looked good 10 days out, as the days passed by the forecast was changing for the worse.
