CONGRATULATIONS TO JOE YEZZI AND HIS SQUAREBODY SYNDICATE ’74 CHEVY CHEYENNE SUPER 10, WINNER OF THE COVETED STREET TRUCKS 2016 TRUCK OF THE YEAR AWARD. Many first saw Joe’s C-10 in the November 2016 issue, where it stunned readers with its combination of classic resto-mod styling and stealthy high-tech engineering. Of course, readers of C/10 Builder’s Guide have been getting glimpses into this square-body god’s arsenal for a while now. The amazing attention to detail seems to be what caught most voters’ eyes with the Syndicate-01 C-10; even items that seemed stock (like the steering wheel) are actually completely custom. IF YOU SAW THE SPRING 2017 ISSUE OF THE C/10 BUILDER’S GUIDE, YOU NO DOUBT SAW OMAR DELGADO’S WILD ’70 C-10 ON THE COVER. For his next trick, he’s completely revamping a ’71 K5 Blazer, which wears a ’67 front clip. Work will be performed by 3R Auto Body, Castro’s Custom and Way’s Customs. The whole body will be shaved and molded, with the windshield tilted back for a roadster look. Once finished, the Blazer will be wearing House of Kolor’s Cobalt Blue Kandy paint. A complete ACME Chassis Factory Level 3 chassis will provide a solid foundation for the build, with Slam Specialties and AccuAir getting the frame off the ground when it’s time to roll. THIS TERM REFERS to front-engine/suspension cross members, usually on C-10s, that raise the suspension mounting points up in order to further lower a truck. An added benefit is that they raise the scrub line, which is especially important with C-10 front suspensions since they hang down very low from the factory. Once a dropped cross member is installed on a truck, the suspension is usually no longer the lowest point of the vehicle. Dropped cross members can be home-brewed or aftermarket, with aftermarket versions usually incorporating rack-and-pinion steering into their designs, like this one from Total Cost Involved Engineering, Inc.…
