FOR the first time in its 27-year history, the institution that is Street Machine Supernats made its way to Winton Raceway on the first Saturday of December for a day of glorious, tyre-smashing action.
Track cruising, superskids, roll racing and competitive burnouts all shared the stage, filling out a huge 12-hour roster. There was also a show ’n’ shine held in the car park, which formed part of a two-pronged ‘show-and-go’ competition.
If you’re unfamiliar with Supernats, it’s the brainchild of custom painter, drag racer, burnout competitor and promoter Ahmet Kadri Sehirligil. He founded the show at Oran Park back in 1994, before shifting to Eastern Creek as attendance exploded in the late 90s.
