There was once a great king of England called Uther Pendragon who, with his fair wife Igraine, ruled the land in a time of troublesome noblemen and lords.
In the most troubled of times, they had a baby boy, who they named Arthur. The king and queen were delighted, but King Uther’s advisor, the wise old wizard, Merlin, had a vision that the young heir’s life was in danger. He urged the king to keep his son’s birth a secret and to send him away.
With a heavy heart, the king agreed, and Merlin took baby Arthur to the great knight, Sir Ector, where the child grew up as his adopted son and as half-brother to Sir Kay.
