There are so many beautiful embroidery techniques, it’s hard to know what to focus on next in Stitch! I’m very pleased, however, to be shining the light on whitework in this issue, with our interview with Auburn Claire Lucas, who shares the origins of her new book and stunning pieces such as this delicate design based on flora and fauna. • You can use other vessels as a mould rather than metal but if they are plastic or glass you are best to cover them with cling film and leave it to dry naturally. • If you would prefer to leave your bowl to dry naturally then you will need to cover the metal bowl with cling film before placing your wet bowl on top of it. How long has the group been running? The Group was formed in 1987 and called North Kent Embroiderers’ Guild until March 2021 when we reformed as North Kent Embroiderers. Currently we have 28 members, including several founder members. Where do you meet and how often? We meet on the third Saturday of each month, apart from August.
