AWAY FROM its governance restructure, the North Norfolk Railway is gearing up to celebrate its 50th anniversary of running passenger trains in 2025, with rolling stock set to take centre stage.
British Railways Mk 1 TSO No. 3868 – the first Mk 1 to be preserved, in 1969 – will revert to its 1975 livery of Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway umber for one year only, while DRB Railbus, No. E79960, which was used on off-peak services in the 1970s, 80s and 90s, is set to make a reappearance for the Rails & Ales weekend on June 13-15.
Locomotives-wise, Great Northern Railway ‘N2’ No. 1744 is expected to return to service, having last steamed in November 2018, while ‘42XX’ 2-8-0T No. 4277 ‘Hercules’ – on loan from the Dartmouth…
