The Professional Board for Occupational Therapy, Medical Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Arts Therapy under the ambit of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) is collaborating with the University of Pretoria in celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Music Therapy Unit’s training programme.
The symposium will be held at the Musaion on UP’s Main Campus in Hatfield tomorrow.
Music therapy is a recognised, evidence-based health profession where therapists use music to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals, groups, and communities.
Through techniques such as improvisation, songwriting, movement, and music listening, therapists enhance their clients’ well-being.
