Geneva: Helicopters were used to evacuate over 250 people from a high-mountain station in the Swiss Alps yesterday after a cable car to the top broke down. ANGRY residents in Soshanguve protested yesterday in frustration over a lack of water after their taps ran dry last week owing to maintenance being done by Rand Water at the Haartebeeshoek reservoir. Tabarka: Firefighters in Tunisia were battling a major blaze that had raged for two days in a pine forest near the border with Algeria, a civil defence official said yesterday.
