SIX senior government officials and company directors from Gauteng and the Free State are out on bail of R20 000 each for fraud in connection with the Winnie Mandela Museum in Brandfort.
The suspects appeared at the Welkom Magistrate’s Court yesterday. They are facing charges of fraud, theft, contravention of the Public Finance Management Act and contravention of the Municipal Finance Management Act.
The accused are Humphrey Tsoarelo Malakoane, 56, former head of the Sports and Culture Department, now head of the Education Department; Nontsikelelo Eunice Aaron, 55, a former municipal manager of the Lejweleputswa District Municipality; Lebogang Aubrey Sebeela, 47, formerly of the Sports and Culture Department; Monyane Matthews Sefantse, 53, former municipal manager of the Lejweleputswa District Municipality, currently municipal manager of the Nketoane Local Municipality; Errens…
