Parliament arsonist accused Zandile Mafe’s lawyers have said they will pursue the matter of his bail as far as the Constitutional Court, if need be – after his bail appeal was dismissed in the Western Cape High Court yesterday. Mafe, through his lawyers, advocate Dali Mpofu and Luvuyo Godla, brought an application in the high court – where they said the magistrate was wrong in refusing to grant him bail, as exceptional circumstances did exist to permit his release. The Gauteng Department of Health said it “can confirm that a fire broke out at Steve Biko Academic Hospital (SBAH) in the early hours.
