A total of 20 creators will be receiving a cash grant of about R860 000 in total. Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Faith Mazibuko, in response to a question by the DA’s Michael Shackleton, said there were two groups of patrollers who had not been paid in the past financial year. These two groups of patrollers include a total of 1 222 land invasion patrollers and about 140 festive season patrollers. Córdoba: Argentinian golf champion Angel “Pato” Cabrera was sentenced to two years in prison this week for assaulting his former partner and stealing her cellphone. Head of social crime prevention in the police, Major-General Thokozani Mathonsi said yesterday they have been concerned about the number of cases of vigilantism. Mathonsi said in the first three months of this year, 298 people were killed in vigilantism cases. In the latest case, eight people were killed by the community of Zandspruit in Johannesburg for being suspected of robberies and other crimes in the area. DHAKA: Rani, a 23-month-old dwarf cow from Charigram village in Bangladesh has become the talk of the town and landed in the limelight on social media for supposedly being the world’s smallest cow. Its owner, MA Hasan Howlader, manager of Shikor Agro farm, has reached out to Guinness World Records, claiming Rani, which is a Bhutanese cow, is shorter than Manikyam, a small bovine of the Vechur breed, from Kerala state in India that currently holds the Guinness World Record for being the tiniest cow. “People come long distances,” Howlader told AFP. BOGOTA: The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights hit out on Wednesday at Colombia’s “disproportionate” and “lethal” response to anti-government protests that broke out just over two months ago. At least 60 people have died since protests began on April 28, according to the ombudsman’s office.
