Think of these players dating back to the 2011 season: Derick Minnie, Scotland international Joshua Strauss, Cobus Grobbelaar, Wikus van Heerden, former Springbok captain Warren Whiteley, Lions legend Jaco Kriel, Ruan Ackermann, Cyle Brink, the underrated Warwick Tecklenberg, and hard as nails Kwagga Smith.
So it should come as no surprise that the Lions again have an impressive slew of loosies, the most exciting prospects of which are the three young men who were the incumbents against the Bulls last weekend: Vincent Tshituka and MJ Pelser are 22 years old, and Francke Horn 21.
