As usual the Top End had rolled out the good weather carpet. It was another glorious day in paradise. At a picturesque spot on the pristine river, we unloaded the gear, set up camp, lit the cooking fire, put the boat in and handed out the handlines and fishing rods to a line-up of happy, smiling, animated kids.
“Now the hard-hitting coach-gun, ‘the widow-maker’, did the rest.” OVER the last 17years, I have been lucky enough to spend many enjoyable days out bush with Brett and his family, camping, fishing, chasing pigs, buffalo and goose shooting. On all those occasions, the highlight of the day for me was the children’s big grins and infectious laughter. Today was no exception.
