Architecture is created in our digital age through various means, including 3D modelling from the initial phases, but there are others who still emphasise analogism. Steven Holl, who sees architecture as a total of multiple and experienced phenomena such as light, atmosphere, space, and materials, belongs to this category. His architecture, combined with unique emotions and concepts, has relied on hand sketches and model studies.
The exhibition ‘Steven Holl: Making Architecture’, held at the Soongsil University Hyungnam Memorial Engineering Building, from Oct. 1 – 27 was organised by the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art as a tour exhibition revealing the process behind making his architecture.
