Sometimes inspiration strikes in unlikely circumstances. For Lissy Rawl, it all started during a season of sleepless nights with her second baby. The new mother of two had just left her job in interior design to stay at home with her girls, leaving her creative mind longing for another outlet. With resources left over from her design days and her Hilton Head Island home as a muse, Lissy began using the late nights to craft coastal-influenced jewelry made from an imaginative assortment of textiles. “I kept envisioning a jewelry line that tied my interior design background in,” Lissy says. “I had fabulous sample books lying around and wanted to use these gorgeous swatches for something other than the home. Affogato with Chambord Sauce and Berries MAKES 6 SERVINGS ½ cup Chambord or other raspberry liqueur½ cup fresh raspberries½ cup fresh blackberries¼ cup packed light brown sugar3 cups vanilla ice cream¾ cup hot brewed espresso*Garnish: fresh raspberries, fresh blackberries 1. In a small saucepan, combine Chambord, raspberries, blackberries, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, and reduce heat to medium-low; simmer, stirring occasionally, until mixture begins to thicken, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 15 minutes. Poblano Corn Pudding MAKES 12 SERVINGS 4 small poblano peppers (about ⅔ pound)3 tablespoons all-purpose flour2 tablespoons sugar2 teaspoons baking powder2¾ teaspoons kosher salt6 large eggs2 cups heavy whipping cream6 cups fresh corn kernels, divided¼ cup unsalted butter, melted⅔ cup chopped green onions2 teaspoons chopped fresh oregano2 cups shredded Colby-Jack cheese blend, dividedGarnish: chopped fresh oregano 1.
