With 2026 upon us, it is time to make some forecasts and predictions for the imaging industry. 1. Compact camera sales will continue to increase. In 2025, both the Fujifilm X 100 VI and the Ricoh GR IV sold exceptionally well. Expect new launches from Canon, Olympus. Panasonic and Sony. 2. Nikon should be launching a successor to the Z 9 and the Z 7 II. 3. Sony’s Alpha 7 R series may see a successor. 4. A new APS-c camera in the X- Pro series is likely from Fujifilm. 5. MumbaiOgraphy’ – a photography group started over a decade ago, has over 1200 members. They organise photography workshops, group discussions, and photo walks for their members – thus helping them to upgrade their photography learning skills. MumbaiOgraphy conducted their recent photo exhibition at the Jehangir Terrace Art Gallery from 17th -23rd December 2025. Over 500 entries were received and 93 photos were selected. Each displayed photo was of 18 x 12-inch size. The Chief Guests at the exhibition were: Gangadharan Menon, Padma Shri Sudharak Olwe, Ganesh Vanare and Rohinton Mehta – who jointly selected the three best photos.
