SHORT TURNS FILM DEBUT Between gay pride events, rainbow flags and proudly queer Olympians, skiing can look like an inclusive and welcoming sport. But for many in the LGBTQ+ community it doesn’t always feel that way, says Ryan Collins, a gay adventure sports photographer and videographer living in Revelstoke.
“I’ve often asked myself what it is about the adventure industry and its rural settings that make me, a gay man, so uncomfortable,” Collins says. “Is it the activity or the space? What’s it like for other queer people in the industry?”
