When Clare Bird took a yarn dyeing workshop at her local yarn shop, she thought it would be a fun activity for her and her husband, Jon, to do together. And she was right – it was such a fun activity, in fact, that they turned it into a family business.
A NEW ADVENTURE
At first, the couple, who recently celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary, simply enjoyed experimenting with colour. “It took a lot of practice (and many mistakes) before we were happy to start selling our yarn,” says Jon. But once they did decide to put the yarn on Clare’s Etsy shop, response from customers was overwhelmingly positive.
