WHEN A GUN COMPANY ANNOUNCES a “new” rifle model, it can mean several things. It could be, of course, that there is really a brand-new gun in the gun stores over which we firearm votaries can swoon. Unfortunately, it also can be a press release for something that the company is thinking about, wants to develop, is developing, or some such. In the computer software industry, this is called “vaporware.” In the case of Weatherby, it really is a new rifle model, and this one has already hit dealers’ shelves.
