As we have reported in recent issues of Ships Monthly, the ferry scene has seen considerable change lately, with ferries switching routes, ports and operators, all captured by the keyboard of our stalwart ferry correspondent, Russell Plummer. Russell has been one of the main contributors to Ships Monthly over the last four decades, but as he is now well into his 80s, he has decided the time has come to put down his prolific pen.
A well-known writer, Russell has authored several books, including Paddle Steamers, a 160-page hardback looking at paddlers on lakes and rivers in Switzerland, Austria, Finland, Germany, the UK, Italy, Netherlands and Norway.
