SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer was spot-on when he said the introduction of a Club World Cup will force South African franchises to take the Champions Cup seriously. The Club World Cup, set to occur every four years starting in 2028, will feature 16 teams: eight from the Champions Cup, seven from Super Rugby Pacific and one from Japan Rugby League One.
