In 2015, designer Marco Borraccino sat down with Jean-Marc Wiederrecht of the movement-design firm Agenhor to discuss building a timepiece for Singer Reimagined (singerreimagined.com)—an offshoot brand of Singer Vehicle Design, which impeccably modernizes vintage Porsche 911s. What was the genesis of this collaboration? I had a project to design a dining-room wall covering for a client and was planning to partner with Fromental on it. Once we started discussions, it became a whole collection. I’m interested in pattern, so this was the next step. They were interested in capturing the hand-drawn quality of our designs and putting them on paper so you could see the nuances of shading and pencil lines and smudginess of charcoal. How were the papers created? We sent them full-size originals, and they took the large-scale drawings to the Victoria & Albert Museum and scanned the originals so they could pick up every single pencil line. Jochen Zeitz’s love affair  with Africa began as many African obsessions do: on safari. “It was 1989 when I first came to Kenya, and I was so inspired,” the former chairman and CEO of the sports-apparel brand Puma says. “From then on, I wanted to travel the continent as much as I could.” And indeed, he did, both professionally and personally, leading Puma on campaigns to endorse African athletes and support local communities.
