If there’s one thing that console manufacturers agreed on during the Eighties and early Nineties, it was that gamers wanted guns. Nintendo’s NES bundle featuring a Zapper and Duck Hunt was popular, and if you bought Sega or Atari consoles you could get bundled guns, too. With that in mind, Nintendo kept the tradition going on the SNES with the Super Scope – however, this time it opted to supersize its weaponry. Rather than a pistol shape, the Super Scope took the form of a large bazooka, an unwieldy but visually exciting armament.
