What a bargain! I bought my lovely lace-covered wedding dress in 1961 for $75. My husband, Arthur, and I were married on Sept. 23. Six years later, in August 1967, my brother Richard Bailey married Marlene and my new sister-in-law borrowed and wore the same dress.
Fast-forward another 11 years, and my sister Wendy Harms, the flower girl in our wedding, still loved my dress so much that she wore it for her wedding in April 1978.
In June 1988 our oldest daughter, Theresa, married Kevin Thomas, now living in Peoria, Illinois. Sure enough, she chose to wear her mother’s wedding dress.
All of these weddings were held in Onarga, Illinois, except for the last one, which was in Belleville.
