OUR CAST OF CLOWNS
EILEEN MATTISON HACKETTSTOWN, NJ
OUR OLDEST DAUGHTER was excited in October 1969 to go trick-or-treating with her family and friends. She was 11/2 years old, and her great-grandmother wanted to make her a costume. What fun!
Gran, as we called her, had some shiny fabric that she thought would be perfect to use to make a clown outfit for her first great-granddaughter, Kristine. My husband, Jim, was Gran’s oldest grandson.
The costume included black pom-poms made from yarn and a hat that fit perfectly.
As our family grew, both our son, Jim Jr., and youngest daughter, Jacquelyn, wore the costume, as well as all eight of our grandchildren.
Today, Jacquelyn keeps the costume at her home, well preserved and looking brand-new. Jim and I look forward…
