SPYDERCO ROADIE 411: Spyderco started designing the Roadie after the TSA proposed a rule in 2013 allowing small knives back on commercial flights after banning them following 9/11 attacks. Political pressure killed the rule, but Spyderco moved forward with this 1-ounce knife, featuring a way of opening the blade it dubs a Double Dent. This little puppy is made in Italy and comes in five colors. PROS: The sheepsfoot blade makes the knife look innocuous. The Double Dent dimples at the tip of the blade are a design improvement from nail nicks. The finger coil extends the grip for us big-handed folks. CONS: With only a lanyard hole, carrying options for this little number are limited. For its size, the blade width is thick. Cutting ease might be affected after…

This article focuses on commercial ammo, but many folks have stocked up on imported surplus ammo. Supplies have dried up with importation having been halted, but you may still have opportunities to purchase surplus ammo. They’re typically steel cased with corrosive Berdan primers. Corrosive primers contain chemicals that leave salts behind after being ignited. Salt attracts water, and anyone who’s spent any time near the ocean can tell you what saltwater does to metals. Therefore, if you use ammo with corrosive primers, you need to be diligent about cleaning your weapon after sending rounds downrange — how soon afterward depends on your climate. In extremely humid conditions, corrosion has been known to start right after a range session. In very dry areas, you’ll have more leeway. In either case, salts…

One also might be surprised to learn this training facility consists of not just a pistol range, but also a 330-yard rifle range, a huge live-fire shoot house, demolitions range, facilities for quick-mounting real doors onto dedicated frames for breaching, a to-spec simulated airliner fuselage, and even space for a helicopter LZ. You cannot disscuss AKs in America without talking to Jim Fuller. It’s just not done, but be forewarned — he is going to tell you exactly what he thinks, and he won’t never win any awards for diplomacy. When people say “922R” they’re referencing U.S. Code Title 18, Chapter 44, Section 922, Paragraph R with additional references to U.S. Code Title 27, Part 478.39. It applies to the assembly of rifles and shotguns from imported parts that would otherwise be banned from importation — you know, guns with evil features like detachable magazines and (gasp!) bayonet lugs. These sections of the U.S. Code provide instruction pertaining to the number of foreign manufactured parts allowed during assembly. The short story is that you are not allowed to use more than 10 imported parts. The longer story is that not all “parts” are considered parts, at least legally speaking. We strived to do as much fair and consistent testing as possible within the amount of ammo and time we had available. For one product, we only had a single 20-round box to provide for both the chronograph and accuracy testing. To be consistent across all the products in this guide, we settled on five rounds for the chronograph and three five-shot groups (reporting the best, worst, and average maximum spread center-to-center). Before even hitting the range, we weighed 10 rounds from the same box of each product on a Mettler laboratory scale. It was recently calibrated and is accurate to one hundredth of a gram. PTSD manifests as a depression and stress disorder, but one that plays a movie of the traumatic event on a continuous loop in the brain. The person who suffers from this feels alone, as if being in a deep hole with no way out and with no energy to begin the climb. Rifle Dynamics (RD) was founded in 2007 with the express purpose of producing a line of “…fighting rifles anyone could count on.” The fighting part of it is significant.
