If you are using a different fabric for the large squares in the table runner, you will only need 1¼ yards. Quilt Designed & Made by Gigi Khalsa Finished Quilt Size 60" x 63" Plan Confetti fills the night sky and brightly colored streamers zigzag in the shimmering air. Is it a quilt, or a party, or both? The construction of this quilt is pretty simple, but there is a lesson about using directional stripe fabrics included in the pattern. The shibori stripes zig and zag across the surface of the quilt, changing direction with each turn. You’ll want to align your stitch-and-flip patches deliberately to get the same effect. Read Mitering Stripes on page 39 for more information. The shibori stripe rectangles are cut on the lengthwise grain to display the stripe effect. Getting Started About our Patterns We recommend that you read all of the instructions before starting a project and that you cut and sew one block before cutting all of your fabric. Using a rotary cutter, mat and an acrylic ruler, cut the shape to the size indicated in the cutting list. Our patterns list finished block sizes, which are typically ½" smaller than unfinished block sizes because they do not include seam allowances.
