Fliegl has wasted no time in adding articulated wheel loaders to the portfolio after acquiring the production rights to the Dutch made Kaweco machines. Born out of the former KW 25-27 (see profi 12/2023), the Fliegl 2527, which lifts 1.85t to a maximum height of 2.9m, is built at the same Bavarian plant as the company’s forage wagons. The low centre of gravity of the three-pot engine 37hp Yanmar engine is said to result in good stability of the 2.5t vehicle and top speed of the hydrostatic tranny is 20km/hr. With a rated output of 507hp, the 760 is the new flagship in the Claas Trion 700 series. Completing the line up in the medium power segment for next season, the Trion 760 is powered by a 12.4-litre MAN engine. The same block develops a rated output of 466hp (was 435hp) in the Trion 750. The grain tank on the 760 holds 13,500-litres (750 remains at 12,000-litres). Coming from the Lexion, the horizontal cooling package in both combines is said to result in fuel savings of up to 10 percent, and on the road, the two combines travel at a top speed of 30km/hr at 1,600rpm. At the superb Tractorfest at Newby Hall, Ripon, North Yorkshire over 7-8 June approximately 1,300 tractors were in attendance. One of the major features was the Fordson E27N in its 80th year. On Saturday morning at 8am our correspondent counted some 57 examples on site, not enough to beat the 71 set at Belvoir Castle in 2006. However before he left the show at 3pm for his six hour drive home he counted 98 on site including County CFT crawlers, but there could have been more on site, you might know differently. All in all a new world record has been set thanks to the Ford and Fordson Association and friends! As always the South East section of the FFA will be at the Kent Agricultural Society’s excellent Biddenden Tractor Fest on 16-17 August at Holden Farm, Sissinghurst Road, Biddenden TN27 8EZ. Almost 450 runners braved soaring temperatures to compete in the annual JCB Lakeside 5 and Fun Run – raising £4,300 for charity. The competitors laced up their running shoes to take on either a five-mile course or two-mile fun run around the picturesque JCB World HQ at Rocester. While most dressed to keep cool as temperatures nudged 28°C, some runners donned colourful fancy dress outfits based on the Wizard of Oz. Charles Bevan, 78, of Abbots Bromley, dressed as the Tin Man, while his son Jason and fellow JCB Lakeside Running Club members Liz Carrington, Helena Fisher and Ben Ord, came as the Lion, Wicked Witch, Dorothy, and Scarecrow. The latest versions of Sky Agriculture’s Progress seed drill are available with the P30 single disc coulter as an alternative to the P50 double disc unit. Designed to make Progress technology accessible to a wider range of users, the new coulter has a single disc opener with an optional press wheel. SMS has revamped three more mounted models in the Ontario light disc cultivator range. Joining the already upgraded Ontario 300 (3.0m), and trailed 500 (5.0m) and 600 (6.0m) models, the Czech manufacturer says that the increased underframe clearance and larger spacing between the working sections on the new 400H (4.0m), 500H (5.0m) and 600H (6.0m), significantly reduce the risk of blockages. Diameter of the standard disc is 510mm (560mm optional), and tine geometry has been modified to provide improved disc guidance and there is a more aggressive working angle. New Holland Roll-Belt balers were launched in 2013 to replace the variable chamber BR series. Offered in two sizes, RB150 and RB180, to produce bales of up to 1.50m and 1.80m in diameter respectively, it is the RB150 models that are more widely available on the used market. Going back a decade or so, New Holland BR7000 balers design DNA was clearly based on the previous 600 series variable chamber models. These were launched way back in 1998. New Holland did, however, make numerous developments and model number changes to the BR series, with BR700, BR700A and finally BR7000 seeing various updates over the decade of BR production. The latest Euro Auctions sale on Wednesday 11 June lived up to expectations when it came to the tractors. There was lots of interest as the machines came under the hammer both from those on site, and those who were bidding via the internet. First up were a series of crawler tractors that saw a Morooka MK100S come out on top. In great condition, and complete with rotovator, it looked to be a good buy, and with 2,017 hours on the clock, went on to sell for £10,500 grade 10. Manufactured by Comer and marketed under the Kramp brand, utilising its distribution network. The range spans T10 to T60 series shafts, including both with and without clutches. Developed and supplied by LeTech, the conversion is based on Grenadier and Quartermaster Trialmaster vehicles. Available with either 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six-cylinder BMW B57 diesel or B58 petrol engines, all models come with a leather interior, heated front seats, safari windows, carpet floor mats and privacy glass over and above the usual Trialmaster standard equipment. Horsch recently previewed a 27m (90ft) version of its Maestro high-speed maize planter for the North American market. Called the 54.20 SX - 54 rows/20” (50.8cm), the two hoppers hold more than 8.5t of seed. That’s roughly sufficient for 120-140ha per fill, and the new planter will be offered with a liquid fertiliser option. You cannot see it here but there the additional steering axle under the front of the hopper not only supports some of the weight of the planter during road transport, but also allows it to turn nimbly on headlands. It is with great sadness that east Kent steam and vehicle preservationist Stephen Brett has suffered the loss of his wife Jenny after a long fight with cancer. Precision RTK guidance has transformed the speed, accuracy, ease and effectiveness of inter-row hoeing on an arable farm in Suffolk which operates the latest Fendt tractors with VarioGuide RTK.
