Bom, bom, bom… duh, duh, duh, duuuh… I guess it’s a generational thing, but every time someone mentions Jersey, I can’t help but hear the opening bars of the Bergerac theme tune. Such was the huge popularity of the 1980s detective series and its strong association with the Channel Islands.
Bergerac was a showcase for the archipelago, which lies just off the Normandy coast and is made up of the islands of Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm, along with a number of smaller islands.
