NIKITA CHINIAH nikita.chiniah@inl.co.za MAGANLALL Ramdutt, the owner of Art Printers, died after a heart attack last Tuesday. He was 67.
According to Ramdutt’s son, Pranesh, his father started working at the family printing business at the age of 12.
“The business was started 113 years ago by my grandfather, Gainchund Ramdutt.
“My dad was one of the very few successful and leading printing pioneers in South Africa, who always invested in the latest technology.
“He was also a part of the Broadway Shooting Club. My dad enjoyed playing golf and spending quality time with his family.”
He said his father and his sibling, Venosh, were involved with the underground free printing of banned material during apartheid for the ANC, Cosatu, the Natal Indian Congress, and the United Democratic Front, among…
