In early 2020, Alexis Triplett watched the news coming out of China, her gaze set on a TV inside her cell in La Vista Correctional Facility in Pueblo, Colorado. People over ther ewere getting sick with a mysterious respiratory disease. “I heard about it coming to the States, and I’m like, ‘Okay, that kind of sucks,’” she says.
On March 5, the first confirmed COVID-19 cases appeared in the state.
