Taking my first step into our new home, I was a little surprised.
‘Oh, my giddy aunt!’ I cried
It may have been new to me in 1958, but it had been in my husband Henry’s family since the 1890’s.
It’s safe to say, it was a little run down.
There was no running water, no toilet and the only heating was the wood-burner.
However, I wasn’t alarmed by the state of the house.
In fact, I couldn’t wait to make it our own.

Over time, we got the cottage sorted and decorated it to our liking.
