After joining the military as an RAF chef back in January 1987, I truly had the most wonderful career. Whilst travelling the world, I got to cater for many high profiled personals, as well as the serving men and women. Top of my list – the Queen, Princess Margaret and other royals from across the world. Not many people can add that to their resume! To say I had an exciting career would be an understatement. However, 25 years later, I decided to take voluntary redundancy and started on a path in health and social care. I’d been studying whilst in service, so I had the qualifications I needed.
