Freddie has always been creative.
And when he was seven, he was shown the world of coding by a friend.
Immediately, he connected with it and slowly he built his skills.
And soon, he realised the potential coding had.
His great-aunt Pat, 89, lives at home with dementia.
Freddie saw she was struggling with day-to-day living, such as opening and closing a door, so he came up a bright idea.
‘I’m going to create a facial recognition door entry system,’ he told me one day, and that’s exactly what he did.
As part of the coding club at his primary school, he built and adapted his skills to be able to make one.
