Traipsing in and out of GP appointments, I was exhausted. My body ached, I was vitamin deficient, always getting infections.
I was 8, and doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong.
For the next five years, my mum Nicola, 42, took me to countless doctors.
At school, I thrived academically. I loved sport, too, gymnastics, horse riding, skiing, cricket.
But, by the time I was 13, I was lagging. My energy was depleted, I couldn’t walk far, and I was in constant pain.
My grades suffered and I stopped playing sports.
Then, in December 2011, I got glandular fever, and needed time off school.
On the mend, I returned but I was too unwell to keep up.
