As a child, I loved Tolkien’sThe Lord of The Rings, Enid Blyton’s The Magic Faraway Tree.
Even as a grown-up, I wished I could swap my terrace in Sheffield for a fantasy hideaway.
So I did! Luckily, my partner, Karl, 30, supported my scheme to move to the countryside.
I put my career as a singer on hold, Karl quit his accountancy job - and, in June 2010, we bought a run-down, seven-acre farm.
Now I could work on my plans to create a replica of the hobbit homeland, the Shire.
We lived in caravans with our kids, Daisy, 16, Charlie, 14, Rosie, 4, Holly, 3, and Poppy,
1,while the work was done. I got planning permission, applied for grants to help funding.
