Period pain really ruins your week, right?

I’ve always suffered from heavy, painful periods, bleeding for up to three weeks at a time.
Back and forth to the doctor for years, so in April last year, I came to a drastic decision.
‘I’d like a hysterectomy,’ I said.
Me and my hubby, Jason, 41, already had quite the brood, with Shannon, 13, Shawn, 7, Abigail-Grace, 6, and Lily-Jean, 3.
But it was still a big op - especially as I was only 34.
As I had scarring from Caesarean sections, I couldn’t have keyhole surgery.
‘We’ll also need to cut vertically, to avoid the old tissue,’ the doc said.
It meant a longer healing time.
‘I’ll cope, whatever,’ I promised.
