One thing that I love about this job writing articles about photography gear is that for every product I research, I invariably learn something new. As you can imagine, the insights that I gain are often related to photography, but not always. For this article about the Sirui 40mm anamorphic lens, for example, my closer look into anamorphic lenses revealed how filmmakers and directors of photography select specific lenses to affect the emotional tone of a scene. This timelapse/hyperlapse video shows the changing colors of the dolomites from late summer into winter. Mainly shot from 2021 to 2023, with a couple scenes from 2018 and 2019 from the archive. I used a custom hyperlapse buggy, a DIY ultra-lightweight slider and my trusty 3ax Motion-Control Slider/Head combo that has served me well for many years now.
