Ben Cole was born in South Korea and grew up in Sydney, where he first distinguished himself in photography at high school. After progressing to photography studies, assisting professional photographers and immersing himself in the industry, he opened his own studio, converting an old recording studio – including building a fully equipped kitchen – in Artarmon, Sydney, in 2005. While working in various forms of commercial still-life photography, he has become one of Australia’s most recognised exponents of food and beverage imagery. In 2024, that recognition included first place in the food and drink category at the Production Paradise, Spotlight Awards, and second place at the World Food Photography Awards.
