was once a Steam devotee, but now ready to branch out.
Phil: Once there was Steam, and it was... pretty bad, actually. But over the years it grew and improved, and attracted competitors. Now, you can buy games through Origin, Uplay, GOG, Itch.io, GamersGate, Humble, Green Man Gaming, GameShart—so many digital distributors that only one of that list is made up. Many web stores simply sell Steam keys, but others offer a full Steam alternative, client and all. Given the size of the market, is Steam still the daddy?
